CATCH TIMING CHANGES POWER OUTPUT.

SAME ATHLETE. SAME 48 STROKES PER MINUTE. DIFFERENT POWER.

This fixed teaching example is based on a six-foot athlete holding 48 strokes per minute. The stroke rate stays the same. Only the timing of the catch changes, showing how much power the athlete produces.

At 48 strokes per minute, the perfect catch may produce 16 more watts than an early catch and 24 more watts than a late catch, without adding strokes.
