How it runs

The format

Two days, two different races. Full stations both days. The run distance is what changes.

Day one

Saturday

  • Runs 1km
  • Stations Full stations
  • Entry type Solo

Saturday is for those who want to test themselves one on one. This is the full format with the 1km run.

Day two

Sunday

  • Runs 500m
  • Stations Full stations
  • Entry type Pairs

Sunday is for doubles and the 500m run. We did this to give people a chance to experience what a HYROX race feels like with their friends, without committing to the full distance.

Precovery and recovery | The Wellington Cup 2026 | Urban Fitness

Recovery partner

Your HYROX precovery + recovery sorted

Open to everyone racing, and to everyone who came down to watch and support.

TODO: describe the sauna and cold plunge image for screen readers

Our friends at Tory Urban Retreat are home to one of Wellington's most established — and, in our opinion, very best — Finnish sauna + cold plunge experiences.

For HYROX weekend, they're giving our crew 20% off from 11–14 September.

Before the start line or after the finish line, this is where you come to reset.

Get properly hot in the Finnish sauna, hit the cold plunge, recover between rounds, take your time, have a shower and give your body something back after everything you've put it through.

Your 20% discount also applies to Red Light + PEMF, Float Therapy and Hyperbaric Oxygen — whether you're looking for a little precovery before competition day or some seriously rewarding downtime afterwards.

  • 20% off | 11–14 September
  • Code: TORYRECOVERY
